Is my file good enough to print?
A vector logo (PDF, AI, SVG, EPS) prints sharp at any size; a picture (PNG, JPG) has a size it can’t grow past. Drop your file in the checker to see what it is, how large it prints sharp, and what each method needs from it. Nothing is uploaded.

Vector or picture?
A vector file (EPS, AI, PDF or SVG from a design program) is drawn with shapes, so it prints sharp at any size. EPS is the format we like best. Include your fonts, or save them as outlines.
A picture (PNG, JPG, a photo from your phone) is made of pixels, so it has a size it can’t grow past. Our guideline for photo art is at least 300 dpi at the size it prints:
| Printed this wide | Pixels across, at 300 dpi |
|---|---|
| 3.5 in (left chest) | 1,050 |
| 11 in (full front) | 3,300 |
| 14 in (full back) | 4,200 |
The studios call a picture sharp on a shirt from 250 dpi and a little blurry from 150. A picture saved for a website (often 72 dpi) is too small to print well; enlarging it doesn’t add detail.
What each way needs
| Made with | Best file |
|---|---|
| Screen printing | Vector art is best (EPS, AI, PDF, SVG): each color is separated onto its own screen. Use solid colors (Pantone for an exact match); photos and color blends need DTF instead. |
| DTF | A PNG with a transparent background, made at the size you print it (300 dpi), or a vector logo. A JPG has no transparent background, so its background prints as a solid box. |
| Embroidery | Any clear picture of your logo: we turn it into a stitch file once, and keep it. Lettering needs to be at least a quarter inch tall to stitch. |
| Engraving and badges | A clear logo file: a vector (EPS, AI, PDF or SVG) or a sharp picture. You see it engraved on the item before you order. |
